The tenth annual Boulder Valley Real Estate Conference will offer a packed day on Wednesday, November 29, exploring trends and shifting market conditions for Boulder County commercial and residential real estate.
Organized by BizWest and RE/MAX of Boulder, the event will deliver an intensive schedule of national keynote speakers and panels made up of local real estate experts and development officials.
More than 500 real estate professionals and anyone interested in the local real estate market are expected to attend. Attendees get insights into coming residential trends, commercial activity, and significant developments in Boulder and Broomfield counties.
The conference kicks off with Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research for the National Association of Realtors talking about the national outlook for 2018. He will discuss what to expect as 2017 – a year characterized by strong residential real estate markets – closes.
Next up, “Lots to Be Desired” looks at the challenges of dwindling supplies of developed lots in larger communities, contrasted by opportunities in poised-for-growth smaller towns. John Covert, Regional Director Colorado/New Mexico Metro Study, presents this look at real estate in communities large and small.
The popular panel discussion, “Icons of Real Estate,” returns this year. Long-time Realtors give audience members insight into the knowledge, instinct, and strategic thinking required for owning and investing in commercial real estate. This year’s panel includes Chad McWhinney, CEO, McWhinney; David Johnson, President, Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners; Lynda Gibbons, CEO, Gibbons-White; Geoffrey Keys, CEO, Keys Commercial; and Tom Clark, Former CEO, Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation.
Broker/Owner Jay Kalinski of RE/MAX of Boulder moderates “The Big Shift: The Re-balancing of Boulder Valley’s Residential Real Estate Market.” Panelists will discuss the transition underway from a seller’s market to a more buyer-friendly market, and explore how the change impacts buyers, sellers, and agents in 2018.
Market expectations for next year will be examined through the lens of this year’s data by RE/MAX of Boulder Statistician DB Wilson's analysis of the residential forecast. RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor and Author Duane Duggan will moderate a panel discussing residential investments, followed by a review of major developments and sales in commercial real estate by Lynda Gibbons and Angela Topel of Gibbons-White.
“Breaking Ground” – back by popular demand – reveals commercial and residential developments in the Boulder Valley and beyond. Development directors provide a complete rundown of the region’s top projects.
The conference will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the new Embassy Suites hotel, 2601 Canyon Blvd. in Boulder. Registration opens at 8:15 am.
