When we think of a city, we tend to think of its geography, amenities and commerce. But what makes a city a real-life community? It’s the people who live there. The connections between people are what truly make communities strong. If you want to know what makes a community special, just ask a Realtor.
“We stand for community,” says Owner and Founder of RE/MAX of Boulder Tom Kalinski. “It’s a guiding principle of our company and we are committed to making a local impact.” This theme runs throughout the RE/MAX of Boulder culture, shaping its values and ethics.
RE/MAX of Boulder has a proud history as a leader in community involvement. As longtime residents with expert local knowledge, RE/MAX of Boulder Realtors are actively involved in supporting charitable causes across our communities.
They volunteer their time, donate to nonprofits and serve on nonprofit boards of directors. They are the catalysts that bring together businesses, clients and nonprofits to create powerful partnerships. And they get things done.
Broker/Owner Jay Kalinski says, “Our Realtors have proven that they care deeply by digging in and truly participating in as many ways as they can across our community.”
“Many of them quietly work behind the scenes supporting nonprofit organizations, because they have an immense dedication to serving our community and giving of themselves through their time, talent and leadership,” adds Managing Broker DB Wilson.

A Long-Time Legacy of Caring and Stewardship
In a time of great community need, the real estate agents of RE/MAX of Boulder bring a lot to the table. Founded 40 years ago, RE/MAX of Boulder has earned its place as Boulder Valley’s top-performing real estate company. Over 100 top-producing real estate agents have made it the Number One company in transactions for more than 20 years. Agents have an average of 14 years of real estate experience and have listed twice as many homes as their next closest competitor.
RE/MAX of Boulder is designated the Official Realtors of CU Athletics and has garnered numerous “Best of Boulder” accolades over the years. Exceptional client satisfaction has resulted in industry-leading repeat and referral business.
This legacy of commitment to clients is paired with active community involvement. One example is the holiday Share-A-Gift program. Once a year on a special day during the holidays, the Share-A-Gift toy store opens its doors to parents from 650 families so they can pick out donated toys, books and bikes for their children. Each season, the RE/MAX of Boulder lobby has served as a Share-A-Gift collection center, overflowing with toys donated by generous RE/MAX of Boulder Realtors, staff, clients and friends.
The effort is led by RE/MAX of Boulder Realtors Patrick Dolan, Lisa Wade, and Todd Gullette. “It’s magic to see!” says Todd Gullette, who serves as president of Share-A-Gift. “Share-a-Gift has brightened the holidays for thousands of underprivileged children in Boulder County for nearly forty-five years.”
Agents also support nonprofit groups that reflect critical needs in the community. RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor Lisa Wade is a champion for our community and has worked tirelessly, volunteering and serving on boards at over 20 nonprofits, from Attention Homes to Community Food Share, Dining for Women, Boulder County CareConnect and many more.
"I have always felt that it is important to give back to the community where you live and are raising your kids,” Wade says. “Boulder is my hometown and it's vital to me that we have an inclusive and thriving community. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up here, built my career here and raised my family here. The least I can do is to give back."
RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor Linda Nehls serves as chair of the board of directors for YMCA of Boulder Valley. “Giving back is what life is all about,” she says. “I am proud to be a RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor, where giving back and making a difference in our community is embraced. I am grateful to our Realtors for their amazing support and donation to the YMCA.”
In this community of world-class athletes, RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor Timmy Duggan, an ex-pro cyclist and Olympian, founded the Just Go Harder Foundation together with U23 National Champion cyclist and CEO of SkratchLabs Ian MacGregor. “The Just Go Harder scholarship fund provides financial aid to deserving young athletes of the ski racing and cycling programs that gave me so much, including the Eldora Mountain Ski Club and Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures,” Duggan says.
Jean Wood, administrative assistant at RE/MAX of Boulder, leads the community in supporting the Lost Boys of Sudan who have relocated to Boulder. She says, “I'm known as ‘Mama Jean’ to the Lost Boys of Sudan for the past 16 years. I cannot say enough about the love, generosity and support we have received from RE/MAX of Boulder. As an employee, I am so honored to be affiliated with such a caring group of Realtors. They truly are family.”

Julia Stephens, Communications Director of Boulder County CareConnect, says, “RE/MAX of Boulder is an integral part of our mission to help local seniors stay safe and live more independently. Last spring RE/MAX of Boulder Realtors volunteered for our YardBusters program and helped take care of the yards of our elder clients. We partnered again to launch the Silver Business microSummit, which helped local businesses understand how to engage with the older adult population in Boulder County and beyond. We truly appreciate the support that RE/MAX of Boulder extends to the community and to Boulder County CareConnect!”
Executive Director of Attention Homes Claire Clurman, who has worked with Neil Kalinski, Tom Kalinski, Tina Di Scipio, and Lisa Wade, says, "RE/MAX of Boulder has been a wonderful partner of Attention Homes over the years. From helping us fundraise to getting the word out about our programs for at-risk and homeless youth, they realize the vital need for supporting vulnerable populations in our community."
