According to the 2015 Boulder County AgeWell study, older adults represent the fastest growing segment of Boulder County’s population. As of 2015, about 19% of Boulder County’s population was age 60 and over. By 2040 that population is projected to account for about 26% of Boulder County’s population.

With this critically important demographic shift, businesses have an opportunity to benefit. RE/MAX of Boulder and Boulder County CareConnect are teaming up to host the Silver Business microSummit, a key event that will help businesses and entrepreneurs understand the trends and influences impacting older adults and learn how to engage age 55+ consumers in Boulder County and beyond. The event is free and open to the public.

Questions addressed will include:

-What is the “age wave” and how might this population shift generate opportunities in the market?
-What are the leading consumer trends for 55-and-over adults?
-What types of products and services might older adults need now and in the future?
-How can companies engage with older adults in the marketplace?

Speakers and panelists will include:

-Elizabeth Garner, Colorado State Demographer
-Cliff Harald, Executive Director, Boulder Economic Council
-Mike Allen, Technical Program Manager, Google, Inc. and Board Member, Boulder County CareConnect
-Bob Morehouse, Founding Partner & CEO, Vermilion Design & Digital

-Nancy Fenimore, Publisher, Seniors Blue Book Colorado
-Jay Kalinski, Broker/Owner, RE/MAX of Boulder
-DB Wilson, Managing Broker, RE/MAX of Boulder
