TOP 10!

Boulder, Colorado has made many TOP 10 Lists during the past 10 years, having been cited 95 times in the past decade alone for various accolades. What a great place to live, work and go to school! National publications such as Forbes, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, Men’s Journal, American Style and Vegetarian Times think we’re great, too. Boulder County is fit, healthy, green, culturally friendly, smart and a perfect place to dine out, bike, retire or be a vegetarian.  What more could one ask for? If you haven’t visited, do it in 2010, I think you’ll agree, it’s a great town for a vacation. If you decide to look at real estate in our fair city, know that it’s a safe place for your real estate investments.
It’s true that Boulder County home prices have depreciated on a year-over-year basis, BUT it’s the first time in more than 21 years, according to the latest data released by the Federal Housing Finance Authority. Boulder County's Housing Price Index, a measure of price changes as calculated by the federal agency, saw a .56 percent decline in the third quarter of 2009 as compared to the third quarter of 2008, according to the agency that oversees the secondary mortgage markets, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and the Federal Home Loan Banks. Boulder County's recent drop was the first such four-quarter percentage change decline since the second quarter of 1988 when the index fell 1.03 percent. The government calculates the Housing Pricing Index. We’re doing much better than most of the nation, and for that we’re grateful and hopeful.
The last day of 2009, thank goodness; a new year ahead, thank goodness.  In retrospect, it’s been a rough decade and I’m glad to see a new one dawning.  The economy will rebound, slowly perhaps, but I’m optimistic.  The housing market will improve.  Confidence levels will, too. Together we’ll raise a toast to the NEW PROSPEROUS AND HEALTHY YEAR!
